Katherine Edwins Schumm
Born in Minnesota, Katherine moved to Shanghai when she was two where her father worked for Northwest Airlines. The many years in Asia has influenced her work and her relationships. She was educated in both Chinese and British schools. When her family moved back to the States permanently, she was very different from everyone else. Then again, being a blonde, blue-eyed girl was different in China and growing up in a foreign setting made her different in America. One thing was certain, she learned to cope with change. During the ten years in Asia she lived in five different countries. You either plunged into it with a sense of adventure or you struggled. As an extrovert, she never
shied away from anything new. She somehow embraced change as a good thing and thrived.
Now as an adult she has seen how change can torment and defeat anyone who doesn't embrace it. Inspired as her 90 year old mother adjusted to changes in her life with dignity and determination, Katherine wrote her first book: Autumn Days: Bridging Change. Her writing is reminiscent of Erma Bombeck and Lisa Scottoline. The book is an anthology of stories that offer strategies for coping with change. It makes you laugh and dream and believe there is a happy ending to the roller coaster of life. Change - it is the only option.
She currently lives in central Florida with her husband and three rescued dogs and knows no strangers.
Welcome, hope you enjoy the journey.
